Pupil Premium and Recovery Premium

Pupil Premium is a grant awarded by the Department for Education aimed at improving outcomes for children who may be disadvantaged. Since the pandemic, ‘recovery premium’ grant has also been paid to schools to enable those children who have lost ground in their learning to catch up. The amount schools receive depends on  how many children are entitled to Free School Meals (or have been during the preceding 6 years) and the number of children whose parents serve in the armed services. All schools are required to publish information on the amount of Pupil Premium and Recovery Premium grant received; how the money has been spent and what the outcomes are for the group of children it is aimed at.
